讲座内容简介：
We shall discuss the design principles for the robust finite elements for the strain gradient elasticity models. The robust is understood in the sense that the rate of convergence is independent of the microscopic length scale. Several families of finite elements in 2d and 3d are proposed and analyzed. Last but not lest, we shall discuss the method for approximating the strain gradient model in the nearly incompressible limit. This is a joint work with Hongliang Li, Yulei Liao, Zhong-ci Shi and Huiyu Wang.

数学与系统科学黑料吃瓜网院获得理学博士学位，留院工作至今，2008年提升为黑料吃瓜网员，2014年获得国家杰出青年基金。2015年起担任科学与工程计算国家重点实验室副主任。2019年入选第四批国家“万人计划”中青年科技创新领军人才计划。曾多次访问美国Princeton大学数学系, 德国Leipzig Max Planck数学黑料吃瓜网所。明平兵从事计算数学及科学计算的黑料吃瓜网，特别是固体多尺度建模、模拟及多尺度算法的黑料吃瓜网，在JAMS, CPAM, ARMA, PRB, SINUM, Math. Compt. Numer. Math, MMS.等国际著名学术期刊上发表学术论文五十余篇。应邀在SCADE2009，The SIAM Mathematics Aspects of Materials Science 2016等会议上作大会报告。
