Abstract:
The Freed-Hopkins-Teleman Theorem (FHT) is a recent celebrated result which gives a canonical link
between the twisted K-theory of a compact Lie group and its Verlinde algebra, which appears in such
diverse contexts as the representation theory of loop groups and the algebraic geometry of moduli spaces.
In this talk, I will review FHT and discuss notions of higher twisted K-theory and deformation of Verlinde
algebra which are the main ingredients in Teleman's proposal for an enhancement of FHT.
